Larned – Lois Irene Haynie, 81, died May 3, 2007 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned.

She was born March 18, 1926 in Oskaloosa, Iowa the daughter of Garrett and Carrie VanderLinden VandeLune. A Larned resident since 1968 moving from Beatrice, Nebraska and Des Moines, Iowa. She worked for the Fort Larned National Historic Site.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church Larned, the Larned Kan 5 bowling league, the Great Bend Art Mart Framing center and Debes Farms bowling leagues.

On April 21, 1946, she married Edgar Junior Haynie at St. Joseph, Missouri. He died June 19, 1983.

Survivors include two sons Ed Haynie, Wichita, Kansas and Alan Haynie, Plano, Texas a daughter Jana Schartz, Larned, Kansas. Three brothers Glenn VandeLune, Yukon, Oklahoma, Tom VandeLune, West Tawakoni, Texas, Chuck VandeLune, Kentucky Four Sisters Bernice Walling, Oskaloosa, Iowa, Dorothy Barnhouse, Oskaloosa, Iowa, Joyce Jonker, Longmont, Colorado, Blanche Denberger, Oskaloosa, Iowa Seven Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren

Funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Father Bernard Felix Presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
