Jetmore – Madonna I. McGaughey, 94, passed away September 25 2017 at Brookdale Dodge City.
She was born August 27, 1923 in Hodgeman County, the daughter of William Nicholas and Emma L. Sinclair Goebel. A lifetime area resident, she was a retired bookkeeper for the Hodgeman County Treasury Office.
She was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Altar Society and the Senior Center, all of Jetmore.
She married Chester William McGaughey in Jetmore. He passed away in 1989.
Survivors include: two sons, Don (Mary Ann) McGaughey, Unicoi, TN and Jim (Carole) McGaughey, Ponca City, OK; daughter, Cecilia (Sis) Harper, Dodge City; brother, Nick (Pat) Goebel, Jetmore; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Vigil will be at 7pm, Sunday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Jetmore. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am, Monday at the church with Father Maurice Cummings presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
