Obituary

JETMORE- Manley Clayton Woods, 77, passed away April 28th, 2017 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, KS.

He was born April 18th, 1940 in Wagner, OK, the son of George Woods and Lucille Coleman. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer and rancher.

He was a member of The United States Army. He enjoyed playing the guitar and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was also member of the Farmers Association of America.

On May 10th, 1963, in Kansas, he married Sharon M Lappin. After seventeen years of marriage and three crazy kids, she preceded him in death on March 27th, 1980.

Survivors include: one son, Deland (Traci) Woods, Ardmore, OK; two daughters, Cindy (Joe) Heller, Jetmore and Dawndee (Michael Butcher) Woods, Jetmore; two sisters, Rosetta (Jim) Hayes, Leoti, KS and Jackie (Doug) Aldridge, Olathe, KS; two brothers, Carter Woods, El Dorado, KS, Dennis (Sue) Woods, Scott City, KS, and eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Darrell Woods.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 3rd, at 10:30am at the United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Marc Bradshaw presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be at the Fairmount Cemetery following the service.

Memorials may be given to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 663 Jetmore, KS 67854.
