Marcia Kay
King
January 6, 1943 – March 16, 2025
Marcia King passed away peacefully in her home in the presence of her loving family. Marcia was a strong and caring person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, a still born brother, and her sister Marilyn. She is survived by her husband, Dick, of 63 years, three sons, Rick, Scott (Barb), and Jeff, all of Larned.
Marcia was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and had attained 47 years of perfect attendance in that group.
She was a member of the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary since 1979.
She served as a board member of the Hospital Auxiliary of Kansas for 17 years and served in many capacities but primarily as Kansas State Historian.
She was a member of the Larned Garden Club and Larned Red Hats.
She was a Lifetime Member of PTA Wichita and in 1968 led a Protest March against cross town bussing in the Wichita School District.
She graduated from Dodge City High School in 1961 and marched in the first Dodge City Band trip to the Rose Bowl Parade. She loved her classmates and attending their class reunions.
Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the loves of her life and attending their activities was her greatest joy.
Her family will always remember her as the world's greatest volunteer and picture taker throughout the years!
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2025 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Reverend Angela DeFisher presiding. Service will be viewable via Facebook Live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday March 20, 2025 at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in Larned Cemetery.
