Obituary

Jetmore – Marion J. Ochs, 72, passed away March 15, 2016, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

He was born September 18, 1943, in Larned, the son of Vernon and Nola Hill Ochs. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer and served as a director for the Federal Land Bank Association in Ness City.

He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Dodge City, where he served as a deacon, on the building and grounds committee and was the operator of the "GO" Gospel Outreach Bus. He also went to Thailand twice and Honduras once with Feed the Children and a Mission Trip in Mexico for the church.

On August 1, 1970, he married Karen Sinclair in Jetmore. She survives.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Kathy (Darin) Headrick, Greensburg, KS, Marti (Paul) Vicars, Enid, OK; Sarah (Peter) Bennett, Shawnee, KS; his mother, Nola Ochs, Jetmore; two brothers, Alan and Loren Ochs, both of Jetmore; five grandchildren, Levi, Cash and Knox Vicars and Slade and Cody Headrick.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Charles Ochs.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Southern Baptist Church, Dodge City, with Rev. Kirk Larson and Pastor Mahlon Stucky presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. The casket will be closed at the church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore. The family requests that friends and family please dress casual for the funeral service.
