Obituary

Marjorie Lenora Caplinger, 89, died February 10, 2010 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned.

She was born February 7, 1921 in Larned, the daughter of Clarence Clentis and Nora Adeline Hicks Buhrer. A Pawnee County Resident since 1959 moving from Salina; she was an Assistant Manager at J.C. Penny Co. and a Homemaker.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, St. Joseph Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Chamber of Commerce, all of Larned; a lifetime member of the Pawnee County Humane Society, a Past State and Local President for the Business of Professional Women and a Coordinator for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile.

On January 17, 1942 she married Donald Rex Caplinger. He died October 22, 1961.

Survivors include; a son, Gary and wife Macel, Larned, two daughters; Donna Sue Morgan and husband Orley, Larned, Linda Mounday and husband Hugh, Rozel, two granddaughters; Kala Steffen, Larned and Carrie Caplinger, Ellsworth.

She was preceded in death by; two grandchildren; Donnie L. Caplinger and Lexie Marie Caplinger.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor John Grummon and Sister Virginia Pearl presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary. The casket will remain closed. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Zook.
