Hanston- Marla L. (Berger) Holmes, 55, died November 26, 2013 at the Houston Hospice in Houston, Texas.
She was born June 10, 1958 in Dodge City, the daughter of Milton Lee & Wanda Dunn Berger. A lifetime area resident of Hanston, She was a Speech and Language Pathologist for Southwest Kansas Area Cooperative District # 613.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hanston;American Speech and Hearing Association, and Kansas Speech and Hearing Association.
On July 15, 1978, she married Roger Holmes at Jetmore. He survives.
Other Survivors include: Two sons, Joshua Holmes and wife Abby, Hanston, Drew Holmes, Hays; Mother Wanda Berger, Jetmore; Three sisters, Brenda K. Herrman, Cimarron, Darla D. Korf, Humboldt Ks, and Marsha L. Fitzsimmons, Ft Morgan, Co. and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Lee Berger.
Funeral will be at 10:00 am Monday, December 2nd at the First United Methodist Church, Hanston with Pastor Dennis Fulton Presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be at the Hanston Cemetery, Hanston KS.
Memorials may be sent to the Marla Holmes Memorial fund, to benefit the community, in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, P.O. Box 663, Jetmore, KS. 67854.
