Martin Gilmore Olsen's Obituary
Burdett - Martin Gilmore Olsen, 89, died September 14, 2007 at the Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore.
He was born September 19, 1917 in Burdett, the son of Robert and Sadie Ellen Jones Olsen. A lifetime resident of Burdett he was an Engineer for Northern Natural Gas Company.
He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Burdett Seniors all of Burdett.
On June 9, 1941 he married Georgia Berniece Pickard at Kinsley. She died September 22, 1993.
Survivors include: two daughters, Diana Koontz, Kansas City, Missouri, Becky Ellis, Burdett, five sisters, Stella Klein, Pampa, TX, Laura Dovel, Denver, CO, Vera Arthur, Alpine, Wy, Joan Mitchell, Garfield, Lena Simmons, Medicine Lodge, four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m Saturday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Patrick Koontz presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the mortuary. Cremation has taken place and Inurnment will be in the Browns Grove Cemetery, Burdett.
Memorials may be sent to the Burdett EMS, Hodgeman County Health Center, or WEC International - Kathy & Roger Stoll missionaries, all in care of the Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
