Marvin R. Kirchgassner's Obituary
Larned – Marvin R. Kirchgassner, 90, passed away July 3, 2014, at Diversicare of Larned.
He was born February 12, 1924, in Larned, the son of Rupert A. and Mary Gertrude Hoover Kirchgassner. A lifetime area resident, he was a painter, did tree trimming and was retired from the Larned State Hospital Maintenance.
He was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Fort Larned Lions Club and a past president.
On May 17, 1969, he married Ora Ruth Amrine (Hess) in Larned. She passed away on January 17, 2008.
Survivors include: a son-in-law, David Gilbert, Wichita and a brother, Dale Kirchgassner, Wever, Iowa; a granddaughter, Kathy Lovatt and husband Garry, Newcastle Under Lyme England; three great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a niece Linda Homolka, Ellsworth and a nephew, Alan Kirchgassner, Florida.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Melvin and a sister, Yvonne Vanderslice.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Carey Haner presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Garfield Cemetery, Garfield.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Welcome Inn or the Pawnee County Humane Society in care of Beckwith Mortuary, Box 477 Larned, KS 67550.
