Larned – Mary Alice Hawes, 80, died October 21, 2008 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.

She was born December 10, 1927 at Larned, the daughter of Walter and Juanita Mohler Crawford. A lifetime Larned resident she was a homemaker and farmed with her husband.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Garden Club, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Santa Fe Trail Center all of Larned, and was past Worthy Matron of Honor in the Eastern Star.

On February 25, 1951 she married Aaron Ed Hawes at Larned. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1984.

Survivors include: a son Don Hawes, Salina; a daughter, Debbie Perez, Larned; six grandchildren, Xaviera Perez, Mario Perez, Sergio Perez, Aaron Mincer, Donald Hawes Jr., Chris Mayer; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers, Donald Crawford, Walter Crawford, and Rollin Crawford.

Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25 at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Pastor Dennis Scheibmeier presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday all at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
