Jetmore- Mary E. Koontz, 90, died June 15, 2006 at Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore, Kansas.
She was born May 13, 1916 at McPherson, Kansas the daughter of Hiram H. and Bessie H. Bomberger Colburn. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, United Presbyterian Women, Eastern Star, E.H.U., Jetmore Country Club, all of Jetmore.
On March 24, 1935, she married Olan A. Koontz, at LaCrosse, Ks. He died June 12, 1987.
Survivors include: one son, Lewis Koontz and wife Diane, Dodge City; a daughter in law, Diana Koontz, Kansas City, Mo.: three brothers, Hiram Colburn Jr., Ellenburg, Washington; John Colburn, Jetmore; Robert Colburn, Kansas City, Ks.; two sisters, Evelyn Cossman, Jetmore; Isabelle Kirschner, Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Norman Koontz. One brother, Ed Colburn, two sisters, Betty Thompson, and Helen Colburn.
Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the United Presbyterian Church, Jetmore, with the Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday and Monday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
