Mary R. Sherman, 89, passed away September 12, 2024 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned, KS.

She was born October 11, 1934 in West Palm Beach, Florida the daughter of John A. and Faye Stewart Menoher. An area resident of Larned since 2019 moving from Coldwater. She was a Bookkeeper at Kiowa CO. Engineer office, Clerked in AFPR Sec. Div. Boeing of Wichita, Owner of the Coldwater Locker Plant with her late husband Norman Sherman, Teller/Bookkeeper at Peoples Bank. S&S Monument owner & partner.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, past matron and 60 yr member; P.E.O. past president; D.A.R. (daughters of the American Revolution) member; Civic Club - past president; and life-long member of United Methodist Church.

On January 22, 1955 she married Norman D. Sherman at the United Methodist Church, Greensburg, KS. He passed away August 9, 2015.

Survivors include: one son John Christopher (Karin) Sherman, Southlake, TX.; one daughter-in-law, Lori (Brian) Hammeke, Rozel, KS,; four grandchildren, Kara (Jason) Rath, Larned, KS., Zach (Josh Nemechek) Sherman, Lawrence, KS., Lachlan Sherman, Southlake TX., Celeste Sherman, Southlake, TX. and three great grandchild, Brynn Sherman, Jayden Rath and Riley Rath.

She was preceded in death by: her Husband, Norman Sherman and one son, Matthew Jay Sherman.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with Rev Angela DeFisher presiding. Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Crown Hill Cemetery, Coldwater, Kansas. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
