Belpre – Mary I. Voran, 92, died September 22, 2006 at Menorah Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas.

She was born May 29, 1914 in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of John and Clara Kazmaier Welch. She spent her younger years on the family farm in rural Barton County. The last four years of her life, she lived in Overland Park with her daughter Sally, and her family.

She belonged to the Belpre United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Belpre Women's Club, and the Belpre Research Club. She served on many various boards and committees during her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her laughter, kindness, and love will be greatly missed.

On February 24, 1952, she married Elmer Voran at Great Bend, Kansas. He died Dec. 29, 1988.

Survivors include: a daughter, Sally Wagner and her husband John, Overland Park, Kansas: a grandson Austin Wagner, of Overland Park, Ks. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Unruh, Pauline Smith; and four brothers, Mike Welch, Albert Welch, Clarence Welch, and John Welch.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Vivian Bright presiding. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned. Burial will be in the Belpre Cemetery, Belpre, Kansas.
