Larned – MaryAnn Towery, 69, passed August 31, 2018 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS.

She was born August 24, 1949 in Berwyn, IL, the daughter of George and Julia L. Smith Szymanski . She moved from Melrose Park, IL to Kansas in 1979 and was a mental health aide at the Larned State Hospital.

She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed camping and scrapbooking.

On November 22, 1969, she married Elvin Lee Towery in Melrose Park, IL.  He survives.

Other survivors include: children, Scott (Teresa) Towery and Jeff (Sharon) Towery, both of Larned, KS, Wendy Towery, Topeka, KS, David Towery, Almena, KS; brother, Tim (Sandy) Towery, Joliet, IL; fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, KS, with Rev. Daryl Riffel presiding.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary.
