Larned - Matilda (Tillie) Dorothy Brown, 84, went home to be with the Lord July 2, 2007 at the Hays Medical Center, Intensive Care Unit.
She was born February 12, 1923 on the home farm north of Ellsworth, Kansas. The daughter of Frank A. and Lena Korzuskiewcz Zorn, she was the owner and operator of Waxy's Café in Ellinwood for many years and the salad maker at the Don Do Restaurant up-to and including 2 days before her passing.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Altar Society and Veterans of Foreign Wars all of Larned and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles of Great Bend.
On July 9, 1968 she married James R. (Bob) Brown. He survives.
Other survivors include; a son, Terry Huff and wife Cindy, Larned, a daughter, Dixie Shank and husband Dwight, Hutchinson, a sister, Mary Mog, Ellinwood, four grandchildren, Josh Huff and wife Julie, Manhattan, Blake Huff, Washington, D.C., Chad Eakin and wife Janice, Great Bend, Randy Eakin and wife Brenda, Scottsdale, Arizona, and five great grandchildren, Brock, Shabree, Andrew, Andrea and Gracie.
She was preceded in death by; four brothers, Albert, Charlie, August and Felix; five sisters, Sister Anna Nienke, Martena Mog, Pauline Nienke, Ardell Zorn, and Eleanor Bradford.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Father Rene Labrador presiding. Vigil Service will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m Friday at the Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
