Jetmore – Mildred J. Walters, 88, passed away July 28, 2022 at Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore.

She was born November 11, 1933 in McLouth, KS, the daughter of Manuel Pedro and Mildred Irene Grant Sousa.  A longtime area resident, she worked in housekeeping at Hodgeman County Health Center in Jetmore.

Mildred enjoyed crocheting, camping and she loved children and babysitting.

On December 10, 1949, she married Twyman M. Walters Sr. in Fort Bragg, CA.  He passed away December 12, 1998.

Survivors include: son, Ronald (Deborah) Walters Sr., Jetmore, KS; two daughters, Mildred Pamela (Robert) Manning, Meriden, KS, Dena (Dennis) Worley, Jetmore, KS; nine grandchildren,  twenty-eight great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law Maureen Walters, Jetmore

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Twyman Walters Jr. and a brother, Ward A. Thompson Jr.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2022 at Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore, with Rev. Kirk Larson presiding.  Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.
