Larned - Nellie Mae Murdie, 96, passed away August 1, 2017 in North Port, Florida.
She was born April 1, 1921 in Tribune, KS, the daughter of August and Lydia Miller Halfman. A longtime area resident, moving to Florida in November 2012, she was a homemaker.
She was baptized at West Bethany Church in Tribune and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Larned. She also loved to play cards, read and travel.
On September 9, 1938, she married Leon Murdie in Sharon Springs, KS. He passed away January 29, 1983. Then on March 30, 1989 she married LeRoy A. Sohl in Bullhead City, AZ. He passed away September 28, 1994.
Survivors include: son, Robert L. (Charlene) Murdie, Larned; daughter, Leonna Johnson, North Port, FL; two sisters, Joan Halfman, Desota, TX, Florene Snowbarger, Fall City, MT; three grandchildren, Jonny, Bobbi Lee and Missy; six great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Roy and Clark Halfman.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Larned Cemetery, Larned, with Pastor LeRoy Lyon presiding. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.
