Obituary

Nola Nell (Drake Parr) Wiseman, 88, was called heavenward, by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Stonebridge Assisted Living, Hermann, MO.

She was born in Great Bend, KS on March 10, 1937, the daughter of Herbert Andrew Drake and Wynona Clairene (House) Drake.

Nola graduated from Rozel High School in 1955 and then went on to attend Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS where she graduated in the nursing program with her RN degree in 1958.  Nola met Gordon Keith Parr at FHSU soon after beginning college and they married on August 31, 1958.

She continued working in the nursing profession through the years, retiring in 1996 but that didn't stop her from being an active partner in the farming operation.  She drove trucks for both grain and silage harvests, all while planning and preparing delicious meals for the harvest crew.  Gordon passed away on April 16, 1992.

Nola was a great seamstress and wonderful cook.  Her freezer always had a ready supply of homemade cookies and cakes to snack on, and her homemade cherry pies were legendary.  She enjoyed trying new recipes and was quick to let you know if "it wasn't her best effort".

On February 24, 1996 Nola married Allen L. Wiseman and moved to Morrison, MO.

Nola had a servant heart, and she was a gift giver, watching QVC to find the perfect gift for her friends and family.  She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Hermann.  She enjoyed listening to music and playing the piano for church and other groups.

Nola is survived by: her husband Allen Wiseman, of Morrison, Missouri; her son and his family, Mark (Gina) Parr, Mitchell (Danielle) Parr, Piper & Shepherd, Andrew (Whitney) Parr, Dawson & Kipton, Tanner (Adria) Parr, Paxton, Pierce & Palmer Nell, and Annalise Parr, of Garden City, Kansas; Her son-in-law, Derrek (Annette) Ziesch and his family, Brady (Aundrea) Ziesch & Nolen, Aaron (Rebekah) Ziesch, of Wichita, Kansas; Step Daughter, Terry (Gene) Walkenhorst and her family, Tyler (Meagan) Walkenhorst, Ellie, Bethany (Tyler) Marble, Isabelle, Gabriel & Tristan, of Taos, Missouri; Step Son, Jim (Terrie) Wiseman and Josh Wiseman, of Moberly, Missouri; Step Son, Jeff (Karla) Wiseman and his family, Kristen Wiseman, Taylor (Eli) Brunsvold, of Auxvasse, Missouri; Step Daughter, Jenny (Jeff) Keilholz and her family, Amanda Keilholz, Jane, Jake (Kara) Keilholz, Bennett, of Chamois, Missouri; sisters, Lynn Wolford, and Sheryl (Vern) Melton and many nieces and nephews.
