Olive Doreen Johnson's Obituary
Larned – Olive D. Johnson, 89, died June 19, 2009 at Larned Healthcare Center, Larned.
She was born October 1, 1919 at Ash Valley, Kansas the daughter of Porter Robert and Clara Myrtle Hall Smiley. A resident of Larned, since 2001 moving from Pharr, Texas, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Larned United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary, Good Sams Club and was a former 4-H Leader.
On June 11, 1940 she married Glenn N. Johnson at Ness City, Kansas. He survives.
Other survivors include; a son, Robert G. Johnson, Alden, Minnesota; three daughters, Sherrill D. Sallee, Gloria D. Youngdahl, Glenda L. Eye, all of Larned; a sister, Ada C. Ebersole, Wichita; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Guy Smiley, Gerald Smiley, Clair Smiley, Orlie Smiley; and one sister, Dessie M. Robertson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Pastor Dan Lundgren presiding. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Ash Valley Cemetery, Ash Valley, Kansas.
