Opal J. Gibbs' Obituary
Jetmore- Opal J. Gibbs, 87, passed away January 27th 2018 at the Hodgeman County Long-Term Care Center, Jetmore.
She was born May 25, 1930 in Hodgeman County, the daughter of Roy and Estella Bickel Corey. A lifetime area resident, she was an employee at the Hodgeman County Health Center for 20 plus years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and she loved to cook and spend time with family and friends
On December 12, 1960 she married Frank Gibbs in Dodge City, KS. He survives.
Survivors include: her husband Frank Gibbs, Jetmore; one son, Rodney Gibbs, Jetmore, KS.; one brother, Verle (Donna) Corey, Pueblo, CO.; two sisters, Katherine Johnson, Fowler, KS., Maudene Fakes, Jetmore, KS. and one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Law; one brother, Roy Corey and one sister, Laura Law.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial graveside service will be held Thursday at 11:30 am at the Fairmount Cemetery with Pastor Cyd Stein presiding. Visitation will be held Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 am to 8 pm at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Hodgeman County Long-Term Care Center in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, PO Box 663, Jetmore, KS. 67854.
