Patricia Jean Goertzen's Obituary
Larned- Patricia Jean Goertzen, 89, died Dec. 19, 2011, At Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Larned.
She was born March 20, 1922, at Hutchinson Ks, the Daughter of Richard and Mildred Switzer Coleman. A schoolteacher she taught at USD 495 school district.
She was of the First United Methodist Church, Larned; Patricia graduated from Kansas State University and later obtained a Master Degree from Fort Hays University at Hays Kansas. She taught elementary school at various schools in Kansas for over 40 years total and for seventeen of those years she was a reading specialist for USD 495 in Larned; she also belonged to the Kansas Teachers Association.
On June 6, 1947 she married Albert Goertzen at Manhattan Ks; he died January 10, 1981.
Survivors include: one daughter, Kim Bilderback of Plano, Texas; One son Farley Goertzen, Larned; two grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2 pm. Thursday at Fairlawn Cemetery Hutchison with Rev. Bill Fitzgerrel presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8p.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary Larned.
