Jetmore - Paul Curtis Sinclair, age 90, died August 16, 2010 at Fort Dodge Soldier's Home in Ford County.
Paul was born June 09, 1920 in rural Hodgeman County, the son of John A. and Kate Deatz Sinclair. He attended Laurel rural school in Hodgeman County and Jetmore High School. He is survived by three stepdaughters, Barbara Neal, Donna Mason of California and Marlyn Mason of Oregon, a sister, Katherine Hayes, and a brother and his wife, Don and Margaret Sinclair of Jetmore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle, of 48 years, his parents, three sisters, Doris, Francis and Audrey, and a brother, Jack.
Five weeks before Pearl Harbor was bombed Paul enlisted in the US Navy in 1941 at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center and from there was transferred to San Diego. During the next 4 years he served in Honolulu, Majora, Saipan and the Leyte Gulf in the Philippines. Paul was honorably discharged on October 28, 1945.
After the war he started the Flag Cleaners in San Diego doing laundry for Navy ships in port. He continued working his laundry business until he was 80 years of age. In 2007, after the death of his wife, Paul moved to Jetmore and lived in the Bramley Place and The Soldier's Home at Fort Dodge.
Paul enjoyed swimming, water skiing, golf, and bowling but most enjoyed playing card games with friends and family and watching Padre's baseball.
No service will be held, Paul's ashes will be returned to San Diego and placed with his wife's on Point Loma. Arrangements by Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.
