Larned- Paula Diane Wells, 74, passed away January 24, 2017 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood, KS.
She was born June 7, 1942 in Wichita, the daughter of Clarence W. and Winnifred M. Seglem Gallegher. A lifetime area resident she was a retired secretary at the Larned State Hospital.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Larned. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning vegetables, western movies and eating ice cream, but especially loved watching Tyler and Trent play football and collecting grandchildren memorabilia.
Survivors include: son, Martin Wells, Tulsa, OK; three daughters, Paula L. Hobson, Greenbrier, TN, Brenda D. (Darin) Bryant, Great Bend, Karen S. Blackburn, Wichita; seventeen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a son from another mother, Michael Dawes, Great Bend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Wells; two brothers, Ronald and Merle Gallagher and two sisters, Sybil Dole and Beverly Brown.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Don Paden presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary. Cremation will follow the service and no inurnment is planned at this time.
