Larned - Ralph F. Johnson, 83, died, April 21, 2006 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
He was born in June of 1922,in rural Garfield, the son of Carl & Cora Mae McDawell Johnson. A lifetime Larned resident, he was a Water Superintendent for the City of Larned.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Larned, Larned Fire Department for 43 years and was fire chief from 1979 to 1999. He was a WW II veteran serving in the European and Panama theaters. He was a member of the NRA, and he enjoyed farming.
On November 2, 1947 he married, Wanda Arlyne Hall, she died December 22, 2003.
Survivors include; three sons, Thomas, Larned, Brian, Great Bend, Roger, Pawnee Rock; two daughters, Marlyn Perez, and Becky Kwiatkowski – Gabel, both of Larned; a sister, Lois Grandon, Enid, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren and eight Great grandchildren.
He proceeded in death by; a son, Gary Marc Johnson and a brother, Edwin Johnson.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with the Pastors Tim Ault-Duell and Ken Walker presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, with Military Graveside rights.
