Hanston - Richard Allan (Doc) White, 86, died September 30, 2009 at Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center, Jetmore.
He was born May 29, 1923 in Wilmore, the son of John H. and Zelma Baker White. A lifetime area resident; he was a rural mail carrier for the Postal Service.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Boyscouts of America, was a Scout Master for 51 years, Lions Club and VFW all of Hanston, the Rural Letter Carrier Association and the NRA.
On February 10, 1946 he married Alta Lee Koontz at Hanston. She died October 28, 1991.
Survivors include; four sons; John, Garden City, Kevin, Medicine Lodge, Cory, Hanston, Casey, Salina, a daughter, Richelle McNutt, Hanston, Eleven Grandchildren and Twelve Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; two brothers; Walter and John and a sister, Jesse Redfield.
Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Untied Methodist Church, Hanston with Dr. Dyton L. Owen and Roger Alford presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Beckwith Funeral Home, 121 W. Bramley, Jetmore, KS 67854. Burial will be in the Hanston Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites provided by Fort Riley.
