Garfield- Robert J. (Bobby) Banes , 40, passed away Fighting Cancer April 26, 2014 at the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.

He was born July 24, 1973 in Hutchinson, KS the son of Robert L. and Margaret McKenna Banes. A Garfield area resident, he worked for the Pawnee County Coop.

He was a member of the Garfield City Council and he loved to fish.

On November 16, 2007 he married Erin Earegood in Larned. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Robert J. Jr Banes and Christopher Banes both of the home; two daughters, Ashlie Banes and Emma Banes, both of the home; Mother, Margaret McKenna, Hutchinson; four brothers, William Mayor, Hutchinson, Donnie Mayor, Hutchinson, Dustin Banes, Oklahoma City, OK, David Banes, Bentonville Arkansas and one sister, Jessica Jackson, Carter, OK.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Banes.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned, KS with Pastor Leroy Lyon presiding.
