Hanston – Robert S. Diehl Sr., 81, passed away November 9, 2016, at his home in Hanston.

He was born June 16, 1935, in Dodge City, the son of Benford and Jewell Cloud Diehl. Moving to Hanston in 2007, he was a truck driver.

He was a member of the New Horizon Community Church, Jetmore.
On May 13, 1957, he married Betty Hurt in Great Bend. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Robert (Twila) Diehl Jr., Herndon, KS; a daughter, Penny (Gene) Kiehl, Jetmore, KS; two brothers, Kenneth Diehl, Dodge City, KS, Donnie Diehl, Burrton, KS; three sisters, Dixie Jones, Arlington, KS., Kathy Kilbourn, Tampa, KS, Brenda Porter, Lyons, KS; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rodney J. Diehl; three brothers, Ralph, Richard and Benny Diehl; a sister, Georgia Hatcher and a grandson.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Jetmore, with Pastor Marc Bradshaw presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Hanston Cemetery, Hanston.
