Obituary

Larned - Robert L. Grubbs, 81, died March 30, 2011 at his home, Larned.

He was born February 15, 1930 in Jean, Texas, the son of George Washington and Ida Pearl Brooks Grubbs. A longtime area resident, he was a Farmer & Rancher and owner of Lone Star Tank Truck and Bob's Well Service.

He was of Baptist religion, and active in the Farm Aid Movement.

On June 29, 1947 he married Mary Alice Heilman at Wichita Falls, Texas. They later divorced.

Survivors Include: a son Tommy Grubbs, Grand Prairie, Texas; a daughter, Carol Carlson, Larned; a brother Hugh Grubbs, Newcastle, Texas; five grandchildren, Cory Grubbs, Gastonia, North Carolina, Elizabeth McDonald, Larned, Brent Grubbs, Grand Prairie, Texas, Michelle Castaneda, Dallas, Texas, Amanda Grubbs, Mansfield, Texas; and eight great grandchildren, Jayden Grubbs, Mansfield, Texas, Savannah Grubbs, Abbie Grubbs, Lacie Grubbs all of Gastonia, North Carolina, Logan Castaneda, Madison Castaneda, both of Dallas Texas, Caleb McDonald, Larned, Colby Cannon, Red Oak, Texas.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Grubbs; four sisters, Ruby Buffington, Ethel Black, Thelma Grubbs, Ovell McSpadden; and a brother, Aulbrey Grubbs.

Funeral will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Rev. Bill Fitzgerrel presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. Saturday and 1 P.M. to 8 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend.
