Dodge City - Robert D. Moore Sr., 80, died September 29, 2009 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.
He was born March 1, 1929 in Leavenworth, the son of Daniel and Mary Wallace Moore. A lifetime area resident, he was a contractor.
He was a member of the Classic Scratch Bowling League and a lifetime member of the American Legion, both of Dodge City, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Bucklin, and was inducted into the Bowlers Hall of Fame.
On February 23, 1976 he married Wanda Wallace in Clayton, New Mexico. She survives.
Other survivors include; two sons; Robert D. Moore Jr. and Edward (Skip) Moore, both of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, three daughters; Kellie Clutts, Jetmore, Linda Lewis, Portland, Oregon, Audra Crouse, Wichita, a brother; Austin Moore, Mount Hope, a sister; Lucy Sayers, Valley Falls, sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; two sons; Ray and Robert Glenn, a daughter; Gloria Jean Moore, five brothers; Tom, Danny, Lloyd Edward, Russell and Bill, and four sisters; Mary Kate, Bertha, Elizabeth and Betty Lou.
Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore with the Dr. Dyton L. Owen presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Lonestar Cemetery, Woods, Kansas.
