Jetmore – Robert L. Nielson, 82, died July 1, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center, Dodge City.
He was born Jan. 31, 1931, in Jetmore, the son of Hans Sr. and Mary Angelton Nielson. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer for Shriwise Inc.
On September 23, 1986, he married Betty Helfrich in Jetmore. She passed away January 8, 2013.
Survivors include: a son, Kenny Helfrich, Hanston; two daughters, Jana Smith, Hutchinson, Sherlyn Espinoza, Hanston; a sister, Anna Boren, Quitman, Texas; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Avey and Gary Piper and five brothers, Josh and John Schnebell, Hans Jr., Louise and Vincent Nielson.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore, with Pastor Dennis Fulton presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m Tuesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore.
Memorials may be sent to the Robert L. Nielson Memorial Fund in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, Box 663 Jetmore, Ks 67854.
