Larned – Rolla Galen Renfro, 73, died May 4, 2011 at the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned.

He was born October 14, 1937 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Rolla G. and Viola B. (Elmore) Renfro. A Larned resident most of his life, he was a guard at the Larned Correctional Metal Health Facility, Larned retiring in 2005.

He was an Army Reserve Veteran and a member of the American Legion, Larned, and was of Baptist faith.

Survivors include: a sister, Marlene Carr and husband Larry, Larned; a nephew, Kirk A. Carr, Larned; a niece, Tammy Froetschner and husband Jim, Larned; great nephews, Shane Carr, Silverthorne, Colorado, Chris Froetschner, Larned; a great niece, Jami Battin and husband Chris and their son Eli, all of Great Bend; and a host of cousins and friends.

Memorial service will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 9 at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with Pastor Dan Lundgren presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. Saturday and 1 P.M. to 8 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary. Inurnment will be at the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
