Jetmore – Rowena Kay Wilson, 81, passed away February 4, 2016, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.
She was born May 26, 1934, at her home in Jetmore, the daughter of Roy and Lillie Mae Abel Sorem. A lifetime area resident, she attended Kansas University and was a farm wife.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, United Presbyterian Women, served as an elder and taught Sunday school. She also was on the cancer board, a volunteer for hospice and was on the board of Crop Services, all of Jetmore.
On April 5, 1953, she married Ray Wilson in Jetmore. He survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Rodney Wilson and Ronald (Paula) Wilson, both of Jetmore, Ross (Cindi) Wilson, La Crosse; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Sorem; a step brother, Gene Brewer and a step sister, Eileen Brewer.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Presbyterian Church, Jetmore, with Rev. Mark Durham presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore.
