Larned – Roy B. Bauer Jr. 77, died October 10, 2009 in Pawnee County, Kansas.

He was born October 3, 1932 at, St Rose Hospital in Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Roy Bauer Sr., and Katie Gipson Bauer. He was a life-long farmer/stockman in the Pawnee Rock/Radium areas. Roy was a talented artist.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Chruch in Larned, Radium Senior Center, in Radium, and the National Rifle Association. Roy graduated from Radium High School in 1950.

He married his highschool sweetheart Georgiann June Folkerts June 11, 1951 at St. Francis Xavier Church, in Seward, Ks. She survives.

Other survivors include: Sons, Mike Bauer and wife Susan, Bret Bauer and wife Terri of rural Pawnee Rock; Daughters, Terry Bauer of Lenexa, Kansas, Mary Holle and husband Kevin of Herndon, Kansas, Laurie Josefiak and husband Richard of Rozel, Kansas; 15 grandchildren and 11 great–grandchildren; and brother, Kent Bauer of Wichita, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Karen Bauer, brother-in-law Donald Folkerts and great-grandson Tanner Kneebone.

Vigil service will be 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned with Father Bernard Felix presiding. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday and Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Pawnee Rock Cemetery, Pawnee Rock.
