Ruth Marie Robbins, 97, passed away February 12, 2025 at her home in Larned.
She was born April 23, 1927 in Harrison County, Missouri, the daughter of Ray and Mary Rhea Maize Linthacum.
A lifetime area resident, she was a painter, did wallpapering, and also provided end of life care for many family members. She was a member of Larned United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, DAR, Home Extension Unit, Larned Garden Club, and VFW Auxiliary where she served as president for eleven years and helped with all of their activities. She also volunteered at the Methodist Women's Budget Shop and with the LSH Veterans on Veteran's Day. She enjoyed playing Bingo, quilting, and hosting big holiday gatherings. She loved to travel and had visited all fifty states and over seventeen countries. She always had time for grandkids.
In 1945 she married Raymond Fox; they later divorced. She then married Jack Robbins in 1977; he preceded her in death on May 20, 1998. She married Kenneth LeRoy Welsch in 2001; he preceded her in death October 24, 2009.
Survivors include: three children, Steve (Alma) Fox, Elaine (James Clifford) Musgrove, and Susan (George) Welsch, all of Larned; two daughters-in-law, Luzminda Fox, Seattle, Washington, Carol Fox, Great Bend; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; two sons, Ronald Fox and Richard Fox; brother, Jim Linthacum; and a granddaughter, Anne Marie Youngers.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2025 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Angela DeFisher presiding. Visitation will be 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial in Larned Cemetery.
