Dodge City - Sara Ruth Carlyle Webster, AKA Sis (by her brothers), Mom (to her kids), and Seta, Seta Ruth (to her grandkids), 88, passed away January 8, 2019 at Jordan Creek Nursing Home, Springfield, MO.
She was born June 29, 1930 in Greenville, Texas, the daughter of Clarence E. (CE) and Lyda Norris Carlyle.
Sara graduated from Abilene High School in 1946 and attended the Assembly of God Church in Abilene, TX where she met and married Murle. They moved to Dodge City, Kansas in 1949, where she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She was active as a Sunday school teacher, Youth Leader, and in Women's Ministry.
Once they became empty nesters, they retired on Bull Shoals Lake northern Arkansas and southern Missouri (near Branson). She loved to do hand work: Knit, Cross Stitch, Crochet and Embroidery, but more than that loved to teach her skill to her daughter, daughters-in-love grandkids and even great grandkids.
She loved the time she spent the summers in Blue Creek Colorado with her family and friends. Her favorite pastime while there was her "Tea Parties" she would hold on her porch deck and invite all the neighbors for Tea or her favorite "Virgin Pina Colada".
On October 3, 1947, she married Murle (MF) Webster in Abilene, TX. He died July 30, 2007.
Survivors include: two sons, Ted and Becky Webster, Larned, KS, and Terry and Gayla Webster, Springfield, MO; daughter, Mickey and Brent Winfrey, Denver, CO; seven grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Webster, Larned, KS, Chris and Janet Webster, Littleton, CO, Nathan and Hannah Webster, Springfield, MO, Adrianne and Eric Goss, Springfield, MO, Tyson and Ann Winfrey, Denver, CO, Leah and Kyle McGee, Parker, CO, Beau and Ashley Winfrey, Lawrence, KS; eighteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, James "Bud", Clarence Eugene "Gene" and Douglas K. "Doug" Carlyle.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at First Assembly of God Church, Dodge City, KS, with Pastor Ryan Webster presiding. Inurnment will be in Maple Grove West Cemetery, Dodge City, KS.
Memorials may be given to the Larned Assembly of God Church New Building Fund in care of Beckwith Mortuary, Box 477 Larned, KS 67550.
