Larned – Sarah Mabelle Smith, 98, passed away March 29, 2018 at Diversicare of Larned.

She was born May 17, 1919 in St. John, Kansas; daughter of John and Loella Martin.

Moving from Hutchinson to Larned in 1959; she was a babysitter for many families.  She was a member of the Escue Chapel, CME Church, Larned; was a stewardess in the church, a missionary and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Sarah married William Clayton Smith June 10, 1961, in Larned, Kansas; he died in 1989.

Survivors include:  two sister – in – laws; Emma Bradley and Ella Towns both of Larned: and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband William, and a half brother Leo Mills.

Funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Damon Bradley and Pastor Cameron J. Moore presiding.  Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.  Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas.
