Cimarron – Sharon Kay Base, 70, passed away February 13, 2018 at The Shepherd's Center, Cimarron.
She was born January 1, 1948 in Great Bend, the daughter of Dan and Nancy Barker Base. She raised her children in Dodge City, and then went on to live in several communities working for Aquila Gas Company.
She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed Senior Olympics and was very active in senior living in her home.
Survivors include: son, Jeff (Marlene) Bamberger, Dodge City; daughter, Denise (Edward) Blackwell, Dodge City; three brothers, Jerry Base, Smolan, Donald Base, Ellsworth, Darrell Base, Cimarron; sister, Barbara Kroupa, Marion; eleven grandchildren, Ashley Bamberger, Shae Blackwell, Kirsten Blackwell, Cole Blackwell, Kama Blackwell, Morgen Bamberger, Bryce Blackwell, Jade Bamberger, Cierra Blackwell, Trent Bamberger, Talya Bamberger and seven great grandchildren, Jen Woods, Paityn Lamm, Will Woods, JJ Woods, Emma Woods and Asher Lamm.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned, with Pastor Mike Keating presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be in the Pawnee Rock Cemetery, Pawnee Rock.
