Stanley Wade Smith,79, went home to his heavenly father May 26, 2022. Stan was born September 10, 1942 to Wade and Edith (Bennett) Smith at the Gleason Hospital in Larned, KS. A lifetime resident of Larned. He married his soul mate Judy (Barks) August 7, 1964, they were blessed with eight children to raise. Paula Smith-Davis of Larned, Zena Jacobs of Nevada, Judy Smith of Larned, Stanelle Smith of Larned, Tyler Smith of Colorado, and Ossian Hook of Larned, and grandson Ryan Jacobs of Nevada.

He has one brother Charles in California. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law Troy Davis, his beloved Pomeranian Shadow and Chihuahua Lucy I. He leaves behind his precious Chihuahuas Lucy II and Rosie.

Stan was a member of the Methodist Church, the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, Kansas Rifle Association, and the gun clubs in Larned, Kinsley, and Ellinwood. He loved the outdoors, watching westerns, he could always answer your questions about the Bible or History. He liked to tease and always had a comeback for any smart crack. He also had a green thumb and grew beautiful flowers.

He worked for Archer Daniels Western Alfalfa at Frizzells, Ward Feed Yard, and 25 years at Pawnee County COOP where he retired. He worked hard all his life and always gave 110%. He was a very giving and polite man. He will be truly missed.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Larned Cemetery with Bob Sallee presiding. Visitation will be held from 1pm to 8pm Monday, May 30 ^th , 2022 at Beckwith Mortuary.
