Great Bend – Steven L. Pleasant, 75, passed away May 25, 2026 at Azria Health Woodhaven, Great Bend.

He was born May 5, 1951 in Larned, the son of Harley Leroy and Frances May Blose Pleasant. He was born and raised in Larned before moving to Wichita where he lived for over forty years. He recently returned to the area, living in Great Bend the last three years.

He was of the Christian faith and worked at Air Products chemical plant in Wichita. He liked outdoor activities, yard work, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was also a huge baseball fan and enjoyed playing keno and going to casinos.

He married Shirley McGuire and they later separated; she survives.

Other survivors include: daughter, Paulette (Kevyn) Soupiset, Great Bend; son, Roy (Jessie) Pleasant, Larned; step son, Michael McGuire, Wichita; sister, Pamela Rose, Wichita; five grandchildren, Layton (Baylea) Pleasant, Grace Soupiset, Joey Soupiset, Eli Soupiset, Haelyn Pleasant; great granddaughter, Mazie; nephew, Brian (Sam) Humphrey, Wichita; niece, Becky (Tim) Wiseman, Overland Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ron Pleasant; grandson, Lawson Pleasant.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
