Larned - Terry Dale Rhodes, 69, passed away September 20, 2024 at his home in Larned.

He was born October 16, 1954 in Richmond, Indiana; the son of Earl C. and Charleen Helkier Rhodes.  A longtime Larned resident, moving from Independence, Missouri in 1976.  He worked at the Larned State Hospital for 6 years and then went to work for the City of Larned where he was a Power Plant operator.

He was of the Methodist faith, was an Eagle Scout, a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of the Fort Larned Arms Association, was an avid gun and knife collector and also loved collecting John Wayne memorabilia.

On December 10, 1977 he married Karen K. Spencer in Great Bend, Kansas.  She survives.

Other survivors include; a daughter Penny (Leonard) Demel, Great Bend; a son Michael Rhodes, Farmington, Missouri; a sister, Pam (Jerry) Cross, Trimble, Missouri seven grandchildren, Christopher Scheissler, Ashlea Mawhirter, Alycca Towery, Brian XR Fry, Brendon Fry, Sadie Fry and Henley Demel; eleven great grandchildren and a niece Jenny Cross, Trimble, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by; his parents.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary, with Penny Demel presiding.  Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with family present from 6-8 p.m
