Thelma Anna Fern Tryon Bruntzel, 98, died September 13, 2006 at the Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas.
She was born August 21, 1908, in Rozel, Kansas the daughter of Earl and Jessie Luella Maude Pruett Tryon. A lifetime Pawnee County resident, she was a homemaker and farmer.
She was a founding member of the Best in the West Club.
On February 1, 1930 she married Frank Manuel Bruntzel at Larned. He died July 20, 1993.
Survivors include: a son, Melvin Dwayne Bruntzel and wife Lorene, Topeka, a daughter, Doloris Nadine Drapal and husband Lavern, Wichita, five grandchildren, Royce Dwann Bruntzel and wife Brenda, Concordia, Dr. Karla Maureen Bruntzel, Marshall, Missouri, Kimberly Marie Betzen, Parsons, Myron Eugene Drapal and wife April, Meade, Colorado, Kevin Wayne Drapal and wife Janet, Lafayette, Colorado, Eight great grandchildren, Hannah Rose Bruntzel, Marshall, Missouri (adopted from Russia), Rebecca Dianne Bruntzel, Topeka, Braden Jacob Bruntzel, Concordia, Elizabeth Marie Betzen, Chicago, Illinois, Brooklynne Anne Betzen, Brittaney Lynne Betzen, Peter Justin Jacob Betzen, Bliss Madison Betzen, all of Parsons.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Ken Walker presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 1:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Beckwith Chapel. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
