Obituary

Jetmore – Thomas (Tom) M. Walter, 83, died February 22, 2008 at his home in Jetmore.

He was born December 15, 1924, in Jetmore, the son of John and Anna Rose Nall Walter. He was a lifetime area resident of Jetmore, and was a farmer and stockman.

He belonged to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion, all of Jetmore.

On October 4, 1948, he married Norma Lee Schawe in Spearville. She survives.

Other survivors include: three daughters, Judi St. Romain, Littleton, Colorado, Connie Driscoll, Jetmore and Lisa Vehle, Omaha, Nebraska; one son, Mike L. Walter, Jetmore; two sisters, Sarah Guthridge, Wichita and Marian Walker, Pueblo, Colorado; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Walter and three sisters, Edith Vesper, Della Walter and Emma Schelfbein.

Vigil will be at 7p.m. Monday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Jetmore. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church with father Ted Stoecklin and Deacon Dwaine Lampe presiding. Visitation will be from 9a.m. to 5:30p.m. Monday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore with military graveside rites.

Memorials may be sent to the Hodgeman County Veterans Memorial, in care of the funeral home.
