Obituary

Jetmore - Treva (McConkey) Crabill was born December 14, 1930, to Dr. C.M. and Ocie (Thomas) McConkey in Quinter, Kansas. She passed from this life October 13, 2008 in Jetmore, Kansas.

Treva attended and graduated from Quinter Rural High School in 1949. She graduated from Children's Hospital School of Nursing and Denver University in Denver, Colorado. She worked in the nursing profession for thirty years in several hospitals and helped found the Hodgeman County Health Department in 1970. She retired from nursing in 1980.

Treva married Robert L. Crabill October 3, 1953, at the home of her mother in Quinter. Two daughters were born in Quinter, Laurie and Julie. The family moved to Jetmore in 1958 where their son, Robert, was born. Bob and Treva moved to Dodge City in 1994, and back to Jetmore in 2005.

Treva was a member of the Grace Community Church, Dodge City, a volunteer for the Hospital Auxiliary, a reader for many years for various nursing homes. She also was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a former board member of the Hodgeman County Health Center.

She leaves to mourn her husband Robert, daughters Laurie Dansel and husband David, Julie Ochs and husband Alan, and son Robert and wife Michele, all of Jetmore. And eleven grandchildren of whom she was very proud! Also, she leaves a sister Willa Dean Graham, and husband Charles of Colorado Springs, Colorado, brothers, Clarence of Grand Island, Nebraska, Jerry and wife Geraldine of Grove City, Minnesota and Darris and wife Roma of Camdenton, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by, parents, one sister, Arthenia, one brother, Shirley Max (Billy).

Services for Treva will be held Thursday, 10:30 A.M. Thursday, at the Grace Community Church at Ross Boulevard and 6th Avenue in Dodge City. Friends may call from 9a.m. to 8p.m. Wednesday to sign the register book at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Private family burial at Fairmount Cemetery in Jetmore will follow. Cremation has taken place. Memorials are to be made to the Hodgeman County Long Term Care Center in care of Beckwith Funeral Home, Box 663 Jetmore, Ks 67854.
