COLUMBUS — V. Clione Bieber, 71 of Columbus, KS died at 11:55am, Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Medicalodge of Columbus.

She was born July 16, 1938 in Larned, KS to Carrol K. and Hazel Carolyn Smith Beckwith. She graduated from Larned High School in 1956 and Kansas State College of Pittsburg in 1971.
On August 30, 1959, she married Alois R. Bieber. He preceded her in death on January 3, 2001.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbus, and the PEO sisterhood.
She was instrumental in forming the Cherokee County Genealogical Historical Society.

She was awarded the Columbus Chris Award in 2002 and the Lifetime President's Call to Service Award for volunteer service in 2005.

Survivors include two sons, Jeff Bieber of Joplin, MO and Todd Bieber of Atchison; Brother Keith Beckwith of Great Bend; Sister Carolyn Murphy of Wichita, KS; half-brothers Kim Beckwith, Larned and Kevin Beckwith of Perry; half-sister Kathy Johnson of Topeka and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Brother Kay Beckwith.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm, Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus, KS with Pastor Susan Daniels-Brey and Rev. Dennis Johnson co-offiating. Burial will follow in the Park Cemetery in Columbus, KS. The family will receive friends from 7-8pm on Monday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 611 S. East Ave., Columbus, KS.
