Velda Foster Pfister's Obituary
Larned - Velda Foster Pfister, 101, died May 10, 2008 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend.
She was born October 26, 1906 in Pawnee Rock, the daughter of Melvin B. and Ella Cooper Foster. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker and a Registered Nurse.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Pawnee Rock, D.A.R., 20th Century club. She graduated from the Halstead School of Nursing in 1928.
On October 28, 1929 she married Cecil A. Pfister of Pawnee Rock. He died October 18, 1969.
Survivors include; a granddaughter, Kim Murrison, and two great grandchildren, Alicia Murrison and Cody Murrison, both of Louisville, Kentucky; a son-in-law, Jim Oliverson, Louisville, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Maxine Foster, Pawnee Rock; a nephew, Bob Foster, Larned and a niece Kathleen Foster, Hutchinson.
She was preceded in death by; a daughter, C. Verdell Oliverson, a brother, Doyle Foster, and twin sisters.
Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned, with the Rev. Bill Fitzgerrel presiding. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Pawnee Rock Cemetery, Pawnee Rock, Kansas.
