Larned – Vernon Russell Eugene Eitel, 97, died August 28, 2008 at St. Joseph Long Term Care, Larned.
He was born February 23, 1911 in Schaffer, Kansas. The son of Henry and Emma Keggleor Eitel. An area resident since 1978 moving from Colorado, he was a farmer.
On January 21, 1940 he married Nellie K. Bley at Frederick, Kansas. She died November 27, 2004.
Survivors include; a daughter, Leola F. Eitel, Denver, Colorado and a sister-in-law, Sophia Bley, Larned.
He was preceded in death by; a son, Larry E. Eitel and a sister, Ethel B. Eitel.
Memorial Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Rozel Cemetery with the Pastor John Hester presiding. Friends may sign the register from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned. Inurnment will be in the Rozel Cemetery, Rozel, Kansas.
Memorials may be sent to the Arthritis Foundation in care of the Beckwith Mortuary, P.O. Box 477, Larned, KS 67550.
