Obituary

Rozel - Vernon Frederick Ideker, 87 died, December 31, 2006 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Larned.

He was born December 6, 1919 in Rozel, the son of Henry W. and Katherine B. Both Ideker. A lifetime resident of Rozel, he was a farmer and stockman.

He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center. He also served on the Church Board, Farm Bureau Board and was active in the Walnut Valley Senior Center.

On August 7, 1947 he married Ruby L. Kaiser at LaCrosse. She survives.

Other survivors include; two sons; Gary, and his wife Faye Topeka and Neal, Rozel; two daughters, Vicki and her husband Marvin Self, Topeka and Kathy and her husband Chuck Deuth, Lenexa; a brother, Lester; two sisters, Rosella Smith, Ellinwood and Mildred Brauer, LaCrosse; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by; a daughter, Janice Kaye Ideker and a sister, Evelyn Blattner.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center with the Reverend Bruce Adamson presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Beckwith Mortuary chapel. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
