Larned  - Virginia Ann Bauer, 81, passed away September 23, 2025 at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, Larned.

She was born July 23, 1944 in St. John, the daughter of Samuel Theodore and Thelma Rose Henry Culbreath.  A longtime area resident; she was a Registered Nurse at Larned State Hospital for over 40 years, retiring as Corporate Compliance Officer.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Larned, served as a church Elder, was very involved in church activities, was a member of session and led prayer quilts.  She was a graduate of the first class of Fort Hays State University Nursing Program.  She was also a member of the quilting bees, Red Hat Society, VFW Auxiliary, was a past 4-H and girl scout leader.

On October 31, 1959 she married Robert L. Bauer at St. John.  He passed away February 17, 2000.

Survivors include; three sons, Lance (Debbie) Bauer, Allen Bauer and Troy Bauer, all of Larned; five grandchildren, Josh Bauer, Jake Bauer, Nate Bauer, Alleena Bauer (Jared Hainer), and Heather Bauer, nine great grandchildren, four great -great grandchildren and her good friend Billie Broils.

She was preceded in death by; her parents, her husband Robert L. Bauer, a brother, Leroy Culbreath, a grandson, Alex Bauer and a great granddaughter, Rose.

Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2025 at First Presbyterian Church, Larned with Alan Mead presiding.  Visitation will 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned.  Burial will be in the Pawnee Rock Cemetery, Pawnee Rock, Kansas.
