Larned  - Wayne Rogers Blount, 89, passed away September 14, 2021 at Parker, Colorado.

He was born February 28, 1932 in Larned; the son of Causby and Mildred Saunders Blount. A longtime area resident; he grew up in Larned and graduated from Larned High School and the University of Kansas.

He was a member of the Willow Creek Church in Barrington, IL and the 1950 Larned State Basketball team; was an avid Jayhawk fan, and loved spending time with his great grandkids.

On January 30, 1955 he married Jean Kemp, in Winfield, Kansas.  She survives.

Other survivors include; a daughter, Lisa (Scott) Spjuth, Parker, Colorado; a sister, Jeannine (Mike) Girton, Great Bend; three grandchildren, Justin (Stephanie) Blount, Littleton, Colorado, Shelby (Jared) Esquivel, Peyton, Colorado and Anastasia (Jett) Meenach, Hampstead, North Carolina ; and three great grandchildren; Lincoln Spjuth, JJ Meenach, and AubreyKate Meenach.

He was preceded in death by; his son, Bruce Blount and a sister Barbara Jones.

Memorial graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October, 11 ^th at the Larned Cemetery with Robert Sallee presiding.
