Jetmore – Wayne Agustus Shriwise, 93, passed away December 21, 2014 at his home in Riverside, California.
He was born November 26, 1921, in Hodgeman County, the son of Frank A. and Seraphine Schauvliege Shriwise. A lifetime area resident he was a farmer/stockman.
He was a member of the St Lawrence Catholic Church, a charter member of the Knights of Columbus and was on the Pawnee Water Shed Board for 30 years. He was a past board member of the Jetmore School Board, the Jetmore City Council and the American Legion. He was an original member of the Jetmore Housing Authority, and one of the "conspirators" who laid out and founded the Jetmore Country Club. He served in the United States Navy and was a World War II Veteran. He graduated from the University Of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN with a BS in Chemical Engineering.
Survivors include: two sons, Mark Shriwise, Jetmore and Brian Shriwise, San Marino, California; two daughters, Pat (Lou) Mages, Thousand Oaks, California and Susan (Charlie) Bibbs, Kansas City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Kevin) Hardy and Phil (Danielle) Mages, and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Eileen; a brother, Clare Shriwise and two sisters, Kathryn Shriwise and Martha Heck.
Memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Jetmore, with Father Maurice Cummings presiding. Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Jetmore. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Inurnment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Jetmore with military graveside rites.
